About Debbie

Deborah Lieb joins us from New Jersey and has been needlepointing for more than 40 years, completing well over 250 pieces. She was first introduced to needlepoint while attending Vanderbilt University, learning from a college friend and through a short lesson at Sign of the Arrow, a needlepoint store in St. Louis, MO.

Over the years, Debbie has studied with renowned teachers including Anthony Minieri and Pamela Miller, the store owner at The Edwardian Needle, her local needlepoint shop (LNS) in NJ. Her work has also been featured in Needlepoint Now Magazine.

While Debbie appreciates the beauty of a full basketweave finished canvas, her true passion lies in decorative stitches and embellishment. She values both the craftsmanship of traditional needlepoint, or the craft of needlepoint and the creativity involved in making each piece unique, or the art of needlepoint. Everything changed in needlepoint for Debbie truly, after taking a Crazy Quilt class in 2019 with the award-winning Betty Fikes Pillsbury; she began combining crazy quilting techniques with needlepoint — an artistic fusion she now considers her specialty.

When she is not stitching, Debbie works as an office manager at a law firm, where she has been employed for more than 23 years. She also enjoys spending time with her mini poodle, Luke, and getting in her “steps.” Debbie is also excitedly preparing to become a first-time grandmother.
